This creates a level playing field where no team really has a huge advantage over the other.
Another thing that makes me think the NFL is not a monopoly is the ever-evolving nature of the game itself. It’s an entirely different sport now than it was just a few years ago, and even within the last year there have been plenty of rules and regulations that have been updated or changed. This keeps the game fresh, vibrant and ever-changing, which keeps the competitive spirit alive.
And of course, let’s not forget the different stadiums and arenas that host the games. Each team has its own stadium and fans, creating an atmosphere of competition and unique fandom. Even if a team is on the road, their supporters are present in the stands, actively cheering them on.
I think all of this helps to dispel any claims that the NFL is a monopoly. It is anything but, and I think that the future of the sport shows that. With competition constantly on the rise and so many different teams to pick from, the NFL is currently in an absolutely fantastic state of health and vitality.
