It’s almost that time of year – NFL Playoff Picks! Whether you’re a diehard football fan, or just a casual observer, this is always an exciting time to see which teams have earned the right to play in the post-season. As a long-time fan, I am stoked to get to see the best of the best duke it out to determine which team ends up hoisting the coveted Lombardi Trophy.
In my opinion, the biggest no-brainer has to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. After an incredible regular season, they’re sure to be a top seed in the AFC. My money’s on them to come out of the AFC championship game. I don’t even want to think about the drama of a potential Patriots vs. Steelers game. I’m sure the entire country would be on the edge of their seats!
The other three teams I think will emerge triumphant in the AFC are the Buffalo Bills, the Tennessee Titans, and the Indianapolis Colts. The Bills had an outstanding season, and Josh Allen is proving that he is an elite quarterback. The Titans played a very tough schedule and managed to come away with the win in a lot of tough games. Finally, the Colts were able to earn a wildcard team despite losing Andrew Luck. It’s a testament to the rest of their squad.
Switching to the NFC, it’s anyone’s guess. I’m a big believer in the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers playing each other for the right to enter the NFC Championship. The Niners have a very solid defense, and the Seahawks are always dangerous with Russell Wilson. It’s going to be a battle of wills.
The other three teams I’m looking at are the Green Bay Packers, the New Orleans Saints, and the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers have been one of the strongest teams in the NFC in recent years, and Aaron Rodgers is always money when it comes time to make the playoffs. The Saints have a serious playoff pedigree and led by Drew Brees, they’ll be looking to make a statement. Finally, the Cowboys have a young roster, but they’ve been able to find ways to win.
As I’m sure you can tell, there are a ton of story lines that could lead to an amazing postseason. It’s really hard to choose who might walk away with the championship, so I’ll just savor the moment and get lost in the drama of the NFL playoffs!
