It may surprise you that one of the most popular professional wrestlers in the world, Brock Lesnar, has recently taken a crack at the sport of football. After a few years away from sports, Lesnar made a return to the NFL in March of 2020, after signing a one year deal with the Minnesota Vikings.
I remember hearing about it when the news broke. It was such an exciting moment for me. Lesnar had always been one of my favorite wrestlers since I was a kid, and to see him take a stab at playing in the NFL was truly amazing. I couldn’t believe it.
The thought of having a man of Lesnar’s stature on the Vikings was intimidating, but it was also really cool to think of some of the other talented players that could potentially be on the same field. It was an incredible opportunity for fans to not only witness their favorite wrestler playing on the same field as other top NFL players, but to also see some of those incredible plays actually made by Lesnar.
Right from the start, it was clear that Lesnar was a force to be reckoned with. Every time he hit the ball or attempted a pass, you could just feel the energy he would put into it. The Seahawks felt the full force of his intensity as he put together one of the most impressive NFL performances ever seen. He finished the season with 3 touchdowns, 2 sacks, and 11 receptions, all of which were instrumental in boosting the team to the Divisional Championship game.
It is no surprise that Lesnar has gone from an imposing figure in the wrestling ring to a respected member of the NFL. He certainly did not come into the season expecting anything less than success and he delivered just that. His experience, strength, and enthusiasm for the game made him a stand-out within the Vikings. Now, with the whole football world watching, Lesnar stands as a definitive example of how hard and impressive the game of football can be.
The thought of a man like Lesnar making it to the NFL is truly inspiring. To see somebody who has exhibited such an unwavering passion for the sport, even when there seemed to be a limit to his career in wrestling, is an instance where even veteran football players know to look up to. Lesnar has provided an example to all that anything is possible, nothing is beyond reach.
While Lesnar did not entertain a full-time return to the NFL, his one season with the Vikings was extremely fulfilling. Not only did he hold his own, but he made a real impact on the game by showcasing the sort of power and grit that any loser can find within themselves. Going forward, Lesnar will surely continue to use his experiences and successes from the NFL as a source of inspiration to anybody who wants to know what it takes to make it in the world of professional sports.
