how many nfl players have come from arkansas

It’s pretty amazing that so many NFL players have come from Arkansas over the years. I know growing up there, I heard my parents mention it often. It’s almost like it was a part of the state’s culture. You have players from Little Rock, Fayetteville, Arkadelphia, Rogers, Russellville and so many other places. It’s certainly no surprise to most of us.

When you think of the NFL and Arkansas players, the first player most people think of is Darren McFadden. He was a star at the University of Arkansas and was one of the top picks in the 2008 NFL Draft. He went on to have a successful career with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.

Another popular player from the state is Steve Atwater. He played safety for the Denver Broncos from 1989 to 1998 and won two Super Bowls with the team. He has been named to the Pro Bowl team seven times, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020.

Of course, there are a lot of current NFL players from Arkansas as well. Alshon Jeffery from Stuttgart is one of the top wide receivers in the league. Brandon Allen from Fayetteville was the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos in 2018. Trey Flowers from Huntsville was also an All-Pro defensive end with the Detroit Lions in 2019.

I think it’s inspiring that so many NFL players have come from Arkansas. It shows that if you have talent, hard work and dedication, you can make it in the NFL. And just think, some of these players didn’t come from the biggest or the most well-known towns in the state. It goes to show that it doesn’t matter where you come from; if you have the talent, you can make it.

I’m sure there will be many more players from Arkansas in the NFL in the years to come. With the University of Arkansas still producing top-notch talent, and Arkansas high schools producing some of the best football players in the country, there’s no telling how many more players from the state could make it to the top level of professional football.

However, it’s not all about producing players for the NFL. Several NFL coaches have come from Arkansas, including Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and former Raiders and Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells. So, it’s not just about producing NFL players; it’s about producing coaches too.

One thing’s for sure: the state of Arkansas is proud to have been a source of so much football talent for the NFL. And with the way Arkansas football is playing nowadays, there’s no telling how many more great players and coaches the state will produce in the coming years.
