It’s New Year’s Day and I’m feeling the anticipation already; wondering what exciting celebrations the coming year holds in store for me.​ I also wonder what nfl games are on for New Year’s Day 2020? Well, the good news is, the NFL has scheduled Super Bowl LIV for the first day of 2020, so there will be some football action to be seen in, at least!

Though there will be no regular season games played on New Year’s Day, there will be no shortage of entertainment.​ Not only will the Super Bowl on January 1st be a fiery clash between two teams that have yet to be decided, but a barrage of pre-Super Bowl activities that promise to be loads of fun.​

Most sports fan already know that, the festivity will include the glorious Pro Bowl, the Peacemaker Bowl, and the enlightening NFL Honors.​ The Pro Bowl, as always, will pit NFC against AFC and no doubt will be a game to remember as teams battle it out for the league’s top honor.​ The Peacemaker Bowl, an NCAA bowl that serves as a warming up act for the Super Bowl will no doubt be just as interesting and provide an invigorating lead up to the big game.​ And finally the NFL Honors will give some of the league’s best players a chance to be recognized and rewarded for their tremendous bodies of work in the previous season.​

It’s safe to say that New Year’s Day 2020 will be full of celebration and entertainment.​ Whether you’re in the mood for some fireworks or just to take in the spectacle of human excellence, you’re in luck! As for myself, I’m looking forward to a crazy day full of fun, football and great friends.​ Surely there is no better way to welcome bearing of a brand new year!

On the day after New Year’s Day, America’s third most-watched sport will follow the footsteps of the NFL and put on a spectacular show to kick off the new year.​ The college football playoff semifinals – the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl – will give college football fans a chance to enjoy a double-header without having to leave their homes.​ Watching these two fantastic games will provide the perfect opportunity to celebrate the New Year’s Day with friends and family and to continue the same hype that was started by the NFL.​

I’m a huge National Football League (NFL) fan so I was inevitably ecstatic when one of its all time greats, Marshawn Lynch, coined the term “Beast Mode”.​ It’s become an iconic phrase, one that all NFL athletes strive to live up to and one that is synonymous with the athletes who are the most intense and aggressive on the field.​ For me, “Beast Mode” encapsulates the spirit and energy of the NFL.​

I will never forget the first time I heard “Beast Mode”.​ I was at a football stadium, drinking a beer and getting ready to watch a big game.​ As the players warmed up, Marshawn Lynch suddenly appeared and immediately ran out onto the field, bumping into people and screaming the words “Beast Mode” to the cheering crowds.​ I was stunned.​ I had never seen this level of intensity before and immediately knew that Lynch was on another level—a level of sheer determination and will to succeed that few can match.​

As the game went on, Lynch stayed true to his “Beast Mode” nature, running the ball like a freight train and bulldozing his way through the opposing team’s defense.​ He scored three touchdowns over the course of the first half and wasn’t done yet.​ In the second half he scored yet another touchdown and completed a pass to a teammate for a game-winning score.​ By the end of the game, it was clear that Lynch had gone into Beast Mode—and succeeded with flying colors.​

Following the game, Lynch went on to receive a tremendous amount of attention from fans all over the world, many of which hailed him for consistently embracing his “Beast Mode” attitude and going above and beyond what anyone expected.​ Lynch was named a Pro Bowler following the season, thereby cementing his legacy as an NFL icon.​

Not only did it feel inspiring to witness such a great player tackling such an ambitious goal, but it also felt empowering.​ It was a reminder of just how much is possible when you remain resilient and stay true to yourself.​ I felt inspired to take home this attitude and incorporate it into my own life—to stay in “Beast Mode” and never accept mediocrity.​

I often find myself reflecting on that day, and the lessons I learned from Lynch’s “Beast Mode”.​ To always be bold, take risks, and remain focused on the goal no matter what—that is something I continuously strive for, even to this day.​

I’m sure most people have heard the saying, ‘It takes money to make money’.​ With the NFL, that statement couldn’t be closer to the truth.​ An NFL team can cost upwards of hundreds of millions of dollars, depending on its worth, and it’s not hard to see why.​

First of all, there’s the obvious.​ All NFL teams need players, coaches, and staff, all of which require salaries and benefits.​ Factor in medical assistance, a training staff, security personnel, and the list goes on, and the costs quickly add up.​ Then, there’s the cost associated with the game itself.​ NFL stadiums, fields, and equipment are expensive, and that means the team has to shell out a pretty penny for them.​

On top of that, NFL teams have to make sure they’re keeping up with their competition.​ That means investing in scouting and strength and conditioning teams, so they know what the other teams are doing and can beat them on the field.​ But that’s not all – NFL teams need to have good relationships with their fans, so they’re constantly investing in marketing campaigns and community outreach programs.​

It’s been so exciting this season to watch my favorite NFL team, the San Diego Chargers, and all of their players.​ It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I’m huge fans of Melvin Gordon, Hunter Henry, and Mike Williams.​ Gordon is always a workhorse on the field.​ He’s capable of running the ball or receiving it and he’s one of the top players in the league.​ Hunter Henry is the reliable tight end who can be counted on to make the big plays.​ His presence on the field is invaluable.​ And finally, you have arguably the team’s best offensive weapon in Mike Williams.​ He can stretch the field like few others, and he’s constantly making spectacular catches.​

I’m also incredibly impressed with the defensive players on the team.​ Joey Bosa is an elite pass rusher, and his presence alone has made the Chargers defense one of the most feared in the league.​ Add to that Derwin James, the hard-hitting safety who can do it all for a defense.​ And finally, I have to give a shoutout to Adrian Phillips, a defensive back and special teams ace who has played an instrumental role in the team’s success.​

The players on this team seem to have such a sense of camaraderie.​ Everyone on the field looks out for each other and know their role on the team.​ From the coaches to the players, there’s an incredible chemistry that radiates from the team.​ I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such incredible unity between a group of players and coaches before.​

My favorite part about watching the Chargers is the way that their players value the fan experience.​ Whether it’s interacting with them after the game, signing autographs, or even just answering fan questions on social media, they are always so kind and make the experience so positive for us, the fans.​

I think what makes these players so great is their enthusiasm and never give up attitude.​ Watching them run on and off the field with their heads held high and their fists pumping in the air lets me know they’re always willing to give it their all, no matter what the score is.​ It’s a real testament to their character and why these guys have become some of my favorite players to watch.​

One of the great things about the Chargers is that it’s a team game.​ Everyone has their role to play and when the players work together effectively, they can be unstoppable.​ Whether it’s the offensive or defensive side of the ball, the sum of each player’s parts truly create a greater whole.​ It’s inspiring to watch.​

I’m also thankful for the way the team has taught me to appreciate the importance of flexibility.​ With injuries occurring every week, the coaching staff and players are always finding ways to adapt and use the depth on the roster.​ This team-wide attitude of “next man up” lets me know that no player is taken for granted and that their efforts are always appreciated.​

I think at the end of the day, what I love most about the Chargers is their commitment to never give up.​ Even when the odds seem insurmountable and the stakes are high, these players are never willing to back down.​ They’re always striving to better themselves and their game.​ I know that, no matter what, they will always give me something to cheer for.​

I cannot believe how much money Brock Osweiler made in the NFL.​ As a quarterback, Osweiler earned over $135 million in his career.​ That’s more money than I make in many lifetimes! That’s not including his endorsements and bonuses.​ On top of that, when he got traded, his salary quadrupled.​

I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that he made as much money.​ Osweiler was a highly regarded prospect and had solid stats while playing at Arizona State University.​ He was selected in the second round of 2012 NFL Draft and signed a four-year contract worth $3.​516 million with the Denver Broncos.​ He then went on to sign a second, four-year contract for $72 million with the Houston Texans.​ It gets even better, he then later signed a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos for a staggering $16 million.​

That’s a ton of money for playing the same game I like to play, football.​ It didn’t come easy for him though.​ He’s had his fair share of injuries and his post-Denver career hasn’t been as good as his pre-Denver career.​ It’s amazing how much money he made despite the injuries and not playing at the high level he was achieving when he first entered the NFL.​

So how exactly did this guy make so much money? As previously mentioned, Osweiler was highly regarded as one of the top prospects when he entered the league.​ He was also very versatile since he could play both quarterback and wide receiver.​ He was picked by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.​

He was one of the NFLs highest earners right out of college and his salary quadrupled when he was traded to the Houston Texans.​ He was then signed by the Arizona Cardinals, followed by the Miami Dolphins, and then the Denver Broncos again.​ During his time with the Texans he was the highest paid player in the NFL and he still gets paid a lot to this day.​

When it comes to Brock Osweiler’s career earnings, it is truly staggering.​ He made a total of $135 million in his NFL career, and that’s just from his salary.​ If his endorsements and bonuses were included that number would be substantially higher.​ As amazing as it is, $135 million is still a small fraction of the money that some of the other NFL stars have earned.​

It is hard to fathom how much money Brock Osweiler has made in the NFL.​ He entered the league as a highly regarded prospect and he’s had plenty of success.​ He’s had some injuries and his career hasn’t been as successful as it once was, but despite that, he’s still managed to make an absurd amount of money.​ I guess it just goes to show how lucrative the NFL can be.​

It can be really frustrating when you have to cancel an NFL shop order.​ I recently had to cancel an order and it took me multiple attempts before I was able to successfully do it.​ I wanted to share the process I went through with you, so that the next time you find yourself in a similar situation, you can at least be more prepared.​

First, you need to contact NFL Shop customer support to cancel the order.​ You can do this via email or phone.​ I found that the email route was easier and less time consuming.​ I sent an email directly to customer support, including my order number, a brief description of why I needed to cancel, and my shipping address so they could confirm who I was.​

Within two days of sending the email, I received a response from NFL shop confirming that my order had been cancelled.​ This was great, but I also wanted to make sure that the order was refunded back to my credit card.​ To do that, I had to write back and ask a few extra questions.​ After going back and forth for a few days, they were finally able to confirm that the refund had gone through and I could finally move on.​

The whole ordeal was really confusing and stressful, but it taught me a valuable lesson.​ When dealing with an order that you need to cancel, it’s important to pay careful attention to the process to make sure that it gets cancelled first and that any money you receive is correctly refunded.​

I’m sure everyone remembers the ‘84 Bears, that legendary football defense that absolutely dominated pre-Super Bowl days.​ Even 30 years later, it still reigns atop the NFL defense rankings as one of the best defenses in the history of the league.​ So, it’s always been a point of contention among NFL fans: who are the best defenses today?

Most people would hop on the Patriots’ bandwagon when it comes to the current list of top defenses.​ But I think playing devil’s advocate for a bit, the Chargers deserve the title just as much as the Patriots.​ Sure, the Patriots have the stats and rings to back it up, but the Chargers have more than just the numbers; they have heart.​ I mean, have you seen them play? Those guys are machines out on that field.​ It’s like they have a sixth sense when it comes to predicting plays.​

On one hand you have the Patriots, who are relentless and seem to never run out of gas.​ They have persistent, pressure-filled blitzes regardless of the quarterback’s decision making.​ But on the other hand, you have the Chargers with their tenacity and work ethic.​ While the Patriots might give up more points than the Chargers, they’re capable of changing a game with one big play.​

I’m sure everyone’s heard the phrase “defense wins championships”—I think it’s so true.​ No matter how good your offense is, if your defense isn’t up to par with the competition, you won’t be making it to the playoffs.​ So, with that in mind, one has to look not just at the stats, but also at the attitude that each defense brings to the game.​

The Texans may have the best stats when it comes to the most recent NFL defense rankings, but they don’t always play the game with heart.​ Sometimes they can be a little lackadaisical in their approach and struggle to make game-changing plays.​ Whereas the Ravens, while not revered for their stats, have an intensity and attitude that can turn any game around in their favor.​

The Chiefs, Panthers, Cowboys, Rams, Vikings, and Broncos also contenders when it comes to top NFL defenses.​ Each of these teams have brutal blitzes and punishing defensive lines.​ But in my opinion, the Chargers come out on top.​ They’re not only relentless and always looking for ways to make that game-changing play, but they’re also composed on the field, never letting a mistake get them down.​ They’re a unique breed of defenders, and that’s why they deserve the number one spot in the NFL defense rankings.​

Now, when it comes to the most frightening defenses, the Steelers have to be at the top of that list.​ They’re known for their hard hits and no-holds-barred attitude.​ No matter who you are or where you’re from, you can’t deny the fear that is instilled in quarterbacks when they see that Steelers secondary in the backfield.​ I mean, everyone has seen the commercials with James Harrison’s son giving the quarterback one of those classic Steelers stares.​ It’s enough to send chills down your spine!

The Colts come in close second.​ They don’t have quite the same presence as the Steelers, but they have the discipline and the intensity that will make any offense tremble.​ Plus, with the Colts you never know what they’re going to throw at you next.​ They have the surprising agility that no other team can match.​ They might not have the league’s top ranking, but they certainly have some of the best playmakers in the game.​

One team that deserves a special shout out in the NFL defense rankings is the Jaguars.​ They have the stats but more importantly, the heart.​ They are a team that has consistently gone above and beyond what’s expected of them.​ They can limit a team’s point production like no other and play with a special tenacity.​

And of course, let’s not forget about the Panthers.​ With the likes of Luke Kuechly and Thomas Davis on the roster, they are a force to be reckoned with.​ But defense alone won’t be enough for their success.​ They also need to have that discipline and swagger that can take them to the top spot in the rankings.​

The Giants also have one of the best defenses in the league, but more importantly, they have the passion and work ethic that stands out above the rest.​ They never stop believing in themselves and for that, they deserve the ultimate respect.​

Lastly, the Bears deserve a mention on the list.​ Sure, they’ve had a rough start in the first few weeks of the season, but I still believe they have the talent and the potential to improve.​ I mean, they still have players like Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks—two scary names for any offense!

It was a sunny day and I was watching some exciting NFL action when my buddy told me he was streaming the game on his Roku! I was taken aback.​ I was so envious of him! I couldn’t believe that you could watch NFL on Roku.​

I was excited but it was hard for me to think of how it would work.​ Is Roku just like cable? I quickly ran to the internet, and sure enough, I learned that yes, you could watch NFL on Roku.​

This news really made me stoked.​ I just couldn’t believe that one of the biggest sports in the world was now available to watch on Roku.​ I was positively jumping out of my skin! How long has this been going on and why hadn’t I known about it?

However, the details weren’t so clear.​ What did I need to do to be able to watch NFL on Roku? I started researching and realized that I would need to sign up for a subscription that would grant me access to the games and more sports-related content.​

That’s when I learned that there were a few NFL apps that were compatible with Roku, such as the NFL Network, NFL Sunday Ticket, and the NFL Game Pass.​ I was impressed by the variety of NFL activities that could be done on the platform.​

I found out that the NFL Game Pass was a year-round subscription service for NFL fans who wanted to watch all the games, from pre-season to Super Bowl.​ I was surprised by how easy it was to watch NFL on my Roku.​ In just a few clicks, I was able to sign up and watch my favorite teams battle it out.​

I was also pleased to learn that the NFL Network gave access to NFL documentaries, highlights, live games from the Red Zone, and more.​ I had all the content I needed to make sure I never missed out on any NFL action.​

I was also impressed by the fact that, with Roku, I could watch NFL games from anywhere.​ It was so easy to pick up the Roku remote and go to the NFL app.​ NFL on Roku has really revolutionized the way we consume sports.​

I was blown away and there was no way I could keep my enthusiasm for all of this to myself.​ I quickly ran to my friends and explained to them every detail about getting NFL on Roku.​ We were all so thrilled and couldn’t wait to get our hands on a Roku just so we could enjoy all the NFL games and programs.​

Of course, that wasn’t all.​ We also learned that you could get more streaming options from the NFL, such as NFL Mobile, CBS Sports, ESPN, and YouTube TV.​ I was so stoked that all of these platforms could give us access to NFL action.​

We all decided that the best way to get the most out of NFL on Roku was to get the NFL live streaming package, which was also available on Roku.​ This was great because it gave us access to all the NFL games, as well as access to all of the other NFL content.​

Now, we could watch every game, in every stadium, and follow the players we love the most.​ No matter where we were, we could quickly access the games on Roku.​

I was blown away by the amount of content that was available to us through Roku.​ There seemed to be something for everyone, from football games to other NFL related programming.​ Plus, since the games were streamed directly from the NFL, we felt like we were right there in every stadium.​

We all remained loyal to our teams, no matter where we were in the world.​ We felt like we were in the stadium, cheering along with the players and the fans.​ We stayed up to date with all the news and events that were going on in the NFL.​
