I remember when the 2017 NFL draft came around I was so excited to see which of my favorite players would be picked up by an NFL team.​ One of the players I was most anticipating was Charles Harris, a safety out of Missouri.​ I honestly thought he was a lock to get drafted to a team.​

It was a very tense few days waiting for the draft decisions to come out and I was anxiously checking all the mock drafts and sports news websites to see what names they were predicting would come off the board in the draft.​ Charles Harris was one of the names that everyone had ranked to be a surefire draft pick, but as the drafts started to pass and I saw his name wasn’t being picked as I had expected, my heart sank.​

I was shocked when I heard Charles had gone undrafted.​ I had never seen a prospect with his talent and size be let slip through the cracks like that.​ He had great numbers in all of his pre-draft workouts and he had been gaining some serious national attention leading up to the draft.​ Everyone seemed so high on him and just like that he was passed up all 7 rounds.​

I couldn’t help but feel a little upset, not only for Charles himself, but for my team, the Minnesota Vikings.​ I was quietly hoping that they would pick him up and to be honest I couldn’t believe that none of the 32 teams saw his potential.​ I was hoping the Vikings would be the team to add him to their roster but it seemed like they too were overlooking Charles Harris.​

Now that Charles had been able to make it to the NFL, he had more opportunities to make a name for himself and show the world what he could do.​ With increased national attention and some great opportunities, Harris quickly became one of the most popular players on the Bengals roster.​ He was constantly talking about his experiences in the NFL, inspiring countless young players who wanted to make it in the league themselves one day.​

I’m so excited to share my take on who the best defensive end in the NFL is going to be in 2022, when I’ve always been a huge NFL fan and follow the league pretty closely.​ I think it’s safe to say that 2020 is going to be the year that we really get to find out who the best of the best are going to be.​

Right now, there are several names that get thrown around when discussing potential defensive ends for 2022, but I think one stands out above the rest.​ And that’s the Miami Dolphins’ Kainer Simmons.​ I’ve been keeping an eye on Simmons since he was drafted in the first round of the 2020 draft and he’s absolutely tearing it up on the field.​ He’s got the strength, agility, and technique to be a force in the NFL for years to come.​

At this point, Kainer Simmons is looking like a surefire star.​ He’s already making tackles and sacks consistently, and he’s only going to get better.​ I mean, the guy is incredibly driven and dedicated to getting better every day.​ He’s a leader on the Dolphins’ defense, and it really shows on the field.​ Every time he’s out there, he’s playing with an intensity and passion that really stands out.​

And it’s not only the on-field performance that makes Kainer Simmons stand out.​ He’s also an amazing teammate and mentor to everyone on the team.​ He’s always willing to put in the extra work to help his teammates succeed.​ And he’s always going out of his way to build relationships with his teammates, which is a really important quality in a leader.​

It was a spur of the moment decision to attend the Kansas City Chiefs NFL Championships game.​ I had bought the tickets on impulse as soon as I saw them in the newspaper that morning, and within a few hours, I was standing in the stadium, ready to witness history.​ I was entranced by the atmosphere of the stadium, the thousands of people cheering and chanting in support for their team.​ The feeling was palpable; you could feel the energy that filled the air.​

As the game began, I couldn’t help but be amazed by the effort and execution of the Chiefs players.​ They were playing with a level of intensity and skill that I’d never seen before.​ Every touchdown was cheered, every tackle was met with a roar of approval and every interception was met with a gasp of awe.​ The Chiefs played with an unmatched spirit and passion that was contagious.​ I couldn’t help but jump up and cheer with the crowd, clapping and stomping my feet in sync with the beat of the stadium.​
