I remember how mesmerised I was as a child looking at NFL players on TV, their finely crafted leather helmets with their thick laces pulled tightly around the helmet holding it secure; the football in their hands, the laces visible through the gaps in their fingers.

In addition, each team is responsible for maintaining the laces of their footballs! This includes checking for wear and tear, as well as removing any excess lint or dirt that may be lodged in the laces. The teams have to make sure the laces are properly woven and tightened for each game.
These NFL laces certainly have an important role to play in the game! From design to maintenance, the laces help keep everything in place. It’s amazing how much work goes into this seemingly small detail, and I’m now more fascinated with the sport than ever before.
