how long has matthew stafford been in the nfl

Matthew Stafford has been in the NFL for almost 13 years now. Though he hasn’t won a Super Bowl yet, there’s no doubt that he’s been one of the most prolific and talented quarterbacks within the League over the last decade. From the moment he was chosen as the number one draft pick in 2009, Matt has proved himself to be worthy of the title of Top Quarterback and has consistently excelled in his position ever since.

I’ve personally been a fan of his ever since I remember watching the NFL, and I must say that his presence, determination and ability to make something happen in the fourth quarter has given me some of the greatest moments of joy I’ve experienced in football. His agility and arm strength is nothing short of remarkable.

Matthew Stafford’s career achievements are quite impressive. He holds two of the most impressive and top-level records in the NFL. He is the quickest quarterback to reach 40,000 passing yards and also the fastest to reach 300 touchdown passes. As if that weren’t impressive enough, he also ranks as the third quarterback in history to throw 5,000 passes with a success rate of over 70%, maintaining his level of performance even after 12 years in the league.

On top of his incredible passing ability, Matt has a knack for running with the ball and cutting through opposing defenses with ease. In 2019 he faced one of his toughest challenges when he suffered a severe back injury, yet within two weeks of recovery, he was back out on the field, showing no fear in spite of the long road of recovery that lay ahead. I find that trait inspiring – that no matter what hurdles are placed in his way, Matt can push through and show us the determination of a champion.

Matthew Stafford’s impressively long career has been punctuated by a string of successes and it doesn’t look like he is going to be slowing down any time soon. In 2021 he was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, joining forces with other top notch quarterbacks in the league including Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Jared Goff. Here I hope he can continue to push through the difficulties and make a mark for himself. There’s no doubt that he’s going to turn heads and have a successful season.

It’s been a long time in the making, but Matt Stafford has now gained a reputation as one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL. His skill, tenacity, and dedication to the game have made him an icon amongst NFL fans and many will continue to follow his meteoric rise that’s taken him from the top draft pick in 2009 to one of the most successful quarterbacks to play the game in 2021. I can’t wait to see what the next few seasons bring for Matt Stafford.
