As the NFL season winds down, us football fanatics are getting ready for the big finale. It’s always an emotional time of year where the teams that have made it the farthest get to compete for glory. But just how many games left of NFL football is there?
Well, it depends. This year, the NFL has expanded the playoffs from twelve teams to fourteen. This means that there’s fourteen games left in the regular season that will decide the fate of the championship contenders. That’s a heap of games that’ll be quite a thrill to watch!
There’s also the Wild Card and Divisional Round games that follow the regular season. This is where the teams battle it out to decide who makes it to the Conference Championship and eventually, the Super Bowl. That means there’s an additional five games left to be played.
After the Conference and Divisional games, the last two teams standing will play the big finale. Of course, that’s the Super Bowl! It’s the ultimate test of one team’s strength, preparation, skill, and determination against another team’s. This is one game that all of us football fanatics look forward to, and one game you absolutely don’t want to miss. That’s one more game brought to our final tally.
So far, that brings us to a grand total of twenty games in total that will be played out in the NFL to decide the champion of the season. Of course, if you wanted to watch all the games, there’s a hefty amount of time you would have to commit! We’re looking at around a solid month of football and over thirty hours of broadcasting. Now that’s dedication!
If you’re new to the NFL and are still working out who to support, that can be a difficult decision. It’s like picking a family — your team is with you for the long haul, right or wrong. But if you’re up for it, you could always just sit back and watch all the games, so you get a real feel for the teams before you decide who you want to support for the remainder of the season.
Although this upcoming month offers us a lot of games to watch, the teams have to recharge and get back in the game. That’s why the NFL has perfected the art of the bye week — this is where teams have a week off in between games, so they can rest up, prepare for the next game and get mentally ready.
The mid-season break also falls around the bye weeks. This is when the teams have a chance to rest up, get some new blood in the team, and get an overall assessment of how the season has been going. It’s incredible to watch the teams turn their fortunes around using this break or stay strong at the top of the rankings.
So to sum it up, there’s a total of twenty games left in the NFL Season. The regular season has fourteen games, five in the Wild Card, Divisional, and Conference rounds, and of course, the big finale we’re all looking forward to: the Super Bowl. Then the teams also have two bye-weeks to recuperate and get ready for the next game.
It’ll sure be a long month for all of us football fanatics, but I can’t wait to observe the teams compete during this exciting and intense time. How about you? Are you cheering for a particular team?
