It’s football season and unfortunately the NFL game isn’t on over-the-air TV. Well, at least not exactly. It’s actually streaming exclusively on Peacock TV – the brand new streaming service from NBC Universal. I’m not sure how I feel about that… I mean, the NFL has been around for so long featuring classic football on a broadcast television that it almost seems wrong to pick it up and stick it on a streaming service. But on the other hand, I’m pretty glad that the NFL is keeping up with the times and embracing the technology.
For starters, Peacock TV is free-to-use with only some minor ads but if you want to take full advantage of their programming, the Premium version is only $4.99 a month. Sure you have to pay for it, but when you consider the prices of cable, it’s not too bad. I think the price is really fair actually.
Another great thing about Peacock TV is that they offer some exclusive content. Things like NFL game recaps, interviews and special behind-the-scenes footage that you won’t find anywhere else. I’m all for trying to make the NFL game a bit more interesting and this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Plus, there’s no extra hardware required to watch Peacock. You can use your tablet, computer, or smart TV. Heck, you can even use your phone if you’re really desperate. It’s always nice to have options and Peacock definitely delivers there.
Overal, I think Peacock could be a really great way to watch the NFL games. It’s not perfect but it does have a lot of potential. Plus, with exclusive content on top of that, you just can’t beat it. In fact, I think I might have to give it a try.
Now, there have been some complaints about Peacock TV buffering or having too many ads. So far, none of the problems have been overly severe for me, but I have consumed the NFL content on the platform. To me, though, it seems like Peacock is just a streaming service like any other, and most streaming services do have a few hiccups here and there.
I think it’s totally fair to give Peacock a try and see for yourself if it’s worth the cost for you. Sure, I really wish we could still be able to watch the NFL game on broadcast television like we used to do, but I understand why Peacock exists and I accept that streaming services aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
So for what its worth, when it comes to streaming the NFL, I do think that Peacock is worth a look.
Aside from the actual game, there are also other football related content on Peacock. For example, there are interviews with players and coaches, pregame analysis, weekly recaps and so much more. The channel also offers exclusive behind-the-scenes documentaries, offering football fans the opportunity to get to know their favorite players a bit better. And for those who prefer a more casual approach to the game, Peacock also offers commentaries, both in written and audio forms.
The content on Peacock is varied and offers a lot of options for those who want to spend some quality time watching some football-related shows. You can start with the game itself and then explore the world of documentaries or the free-form commentaries. And if you don’t feel like watching anything, you can just download some offer NFL podcasts for free.
On top of that, Peacock also provides insights on the current season. It takes a look into the current teams, players, and coaches, giving an in-depth view of each and every team. You can also get up to date NFL news and other related content to get an even deeper understanding of the entire network.
While I’m not a die-hard NFL fan, I do think that Peacock is worth checking out. It does have its flaws, but that’s true of any streaming service these days. The advantage Peacock has is that it provides a large selection of content related to the game, and what’s more, you get access to all of it for a reasonable monthly fee. So if you’re big into football, you might want to give Peacock a try.
I suppose the decision is ultimately yours. Peacock does offer a lot, but it may or may not be worth it to you. All I can say is that you should definitely check it out and decide whether or not it’s the right service for you. After all, it’s not every day that an NFL game gets streamed exclusively on a streaming service.
Now, that I’ve taken a closer look at what Peacock has to offer, I think I might have to give it a go. Who knows, I might even become an NFL fanatic in the process.
