I’m sure you all followed my excitement for week 5 of the NFL season – it was an absolutely insane week! This one was packed with some of the most jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, and downright unbelievable moments in football this season. From competitive matchups to bizarre plays, this week delivered (in spades!) something for everyone.
To start: how about that Chiefs vs. Raiders game? Talk about a close call with the Raiders pulling off the come-from-behind victory. That final call on the two-point conversion with Derek Carr to Burrow ended up being the dagger. But of course, the MVP frontrunner on the Chiefs – Patrick Mahomes – had his classic jaw-dropping play. He threw a Hail Mary both before and after halftime that seemed to defy gravity. I was literally on the edge of my seat!
The Rams got a much-needed win over the Washington Football team. We all know the Rams have been struggling and it took some clutch fourth-quarter plays for them to come away with the victory. Jared Goff was certainly clutch and had a good game – he threw five touchdown passes.
Next, the Bears had a shocking upset victory against the Bucs. What a game! My jaw hit the floor when I saw Cordarrelle Patterson run the opening kickoff for 109 yards. I thought for sure the Bears were a goner. Who even knew Patterson had that kind of speed?! Fortunately, the Bears came back from the two-score deficit. Mitch Trubisky played a hell of a second half – he was the X-factor for sure!
Finally, the Bills and Titans game was the game of the week. Josh Allen put on a performance for the record books with two passing and two rushing touchdowns. His running TD in the 4th quarter was enough to get them past the Titans. I’m still in awe – what a moment!
So yeah, all in all, the week 5 of the NFL season did not disappoint! It was full of exciting plays, close calls, and insane upsets. Truly, one of the best weeks of the season
